WHAT IS EMAIL BOMBARDMENT?

An email bombing is an attack on your inbox that involves sending massive amounts of messages to it. Sometimes these messages are incomprehensible. But more often, they will be confirmation emails for newsletters and subscriptions. Thus, in the latter case, the attacker uses a script to search for forums and newsletters on the internet. Then they sign up for an account with your email address. Each will send you a confirmation email, asking you to confirm your address. Also, this process is repeated on as many unprotected sites as the script can find. The term Email Bombing or Email Bombing; it can also refer to flooding an email server with too many emails. In an attempt to overwhelm the server and disable it. But that's not the goal here; it would be a challenge to cut down on the modern email accounts used. Meanwhile, Google or Microsoft email servers, anyway. So instead of a denial of service (DOS) attack; against the email servers you are using. Also, the flood of messages

Antivirus, Firewall and Anti-spyware: an essential Security Trident

Although many may confuse them, or think that they are the same, because they are used for computer security , the truth is that there are clear differences between antivirus, firewall and anti-spyware. Let's see what the basic concepts are and their differences, since it is likely that you are not aware of the different online security tools that you have at your fingertips.

Basic definition of concepts

Antivirus is a program that detects the presence of computer viruses (malware that alters the normal functioning of the computer without the user's knowledge or consent) and removes or repairs them.

Firewall, is a part of the network or the system that is made to block unauthorized access and allowing those that are. They can be done through software or hardware, and allow greater protection to networks, especially important in companies that have data that must be well protected.

Antispyware is a set of tools used to prevent and eliminate Spywares (spies or programs that collect information from a computer to transmit it to other people without the consent or knowledge of the owner of the computer).

Differences between antivirus, firewall and antispyware

As we can see, the firewall differs from the others in that it can be hardware or software, while the others are only software.

On the other hand, the main difference of these are what they do and where they are directed , their field of application. Antivirus detects and removes viruses, antispyware does the same for spyware, and the firewall blocks unauthorized access.

In addition, some antivirus also have antispyware to complement their functions, and a few also have firewalls.

As software, they can have multiple antispyware on the same computer , and in fact it can be beneficial, whereas firewall and antivirus only recommend one. It is important to follow these recommendations because otherwise the results can be disastrous.

Antivirus is widely used both on computers and mobile devices, antispyware also but not so much and the firewall as well but less than the previous ones.

They are complementary and beneficial

It is precisely because of these differences that they are complementary tools for good security of the equipment being used. Being three different types of programs and with different objectives, they are not only compatible in the same place but it may also be advisable to use them all.

Keep in mind that not because you have these programs, not even the best, you have to neglect the security of the computer or mobile device used because they cannot do everything. You must exercise extreme caution at all times and use common sense.
