An email bombing is an attack on your inbox that involves sending massive amounts of messages to it. Sometimes these messages are incomprehensible. But more often, they will be confirmation emails for newsletters and subscriptions. Thus, in the latter case, the attacker uses a script to search for forums and newsletters on the internet. Then they sign up for an account with your email address. Each will send you a confirmation email, asking you to confirm your address. Also, this process is repeated on as many unprotected sites as the script can find. The term Email Bombing or Email Bombing; it can also refer to flooding an email server with too many emails. In an attempt to overwhelm the server and disable it. But that's not the goal here; it would be a challenge to cut down on the modern email accounts used. Antivirus is a software that detects, prevents and acts in the elimination of malicious software programs, such as viruses and worms. They are programs used to protect and prevent computers from viruses, to also give the user more security.

CHARACTERISTICS OF ANTIVIRUS

§  Protecting the device: They are programs used to protect computers by fighting again all odds that are going to harm the computer. Antivirus can record both the files found within the system and those that seek to enter or interact with it. It can also recognize a behavior pattern or behavior typical of a virus.

§  Antivirus is different: An antivirus can be complemented with other security applications, such as firewalls or anti-spyware that perform additional functions to prevent the entry of viruses.

§  It should not interfere with the operating system: There are really powerful antivirus programs, but unfortunately, they consume all the resources of an operating system. If we have a powerful and up-to-date PC this may not bother us, but if for example we are laptop users we need an antivirus that does not interfere with the general performance of our equipment.

§  Detecting of virus: The most common method that an antivirus uses to detect the presence of a computer virus is to compare files against a database with virus records.

§  Simple and easy-to-understand interface: A good antivirus should be our ally and therefore, it should be easy to use without diminishing its effectiveness. An antivirus with a thousand hidden options is of little use that we do not know how to use.

§  Presence of different types of shields: A good antivirus must offer shields both in our activity through the Internet browser and also through our email client.

§  Protect against zero-day attacks: Zero-day attacks are threats made by viruses so new that for many programs they are still unknown or undetectable. A good antivirus must detect them instantly or within an hour of their appearance. They can also detect malicious activity to identify unknown viruses or mimic files and record activities performed by programs.

So, now you are aware with types of antivirus and characteristics of antivirus and you know how much it is important for all of us. So you should be having a good antivirus install with all the characteristics with updated version which can fight with viruses and keep your data and computer safe.
