An email bombing is an attack on your inbox that involves sending massive amounts of messages to it. Sometimes these messages are incomprehensible. But more often, they will be confirmation emails for newsletters and subscriptions. Thus, in the latter case, the attacker uses a script to search for forums and newsletters on the internet. Then they sign up for an account with your email address. Each will send you a confirmation email, asking you to confirm your address. Also, this process is repeated on as many unprotected sites as the script can find. The term Email Bombing or Email Bombing; it can also refer to flooding an email server with too many emails. In an attempt to overwhelm the server and disable it. But that's not the goal here; it would be a challenge to cut down on the modern email accounts used. Meanwhile, Google or Microsoft email servers, anyway. So instead of a denial of service (DOS) attack; against the email servers you are using. Also, the flood of messages

BLOATWARE IN NEW DEVICE

Today we are going to talk about a part of the software of many devices and that we can find in the majority of current phones and computers, do you know what Bloatware is and what it consists of? We tell you

After buying a new PC, you are ready to turn it on and organize it according to your accounts and applications. That moment of emotion when you gradually discover the different functions that the software has is overshadowed when you start to see a multitude of applications that do not interest you or do not serve you at all. That is the so-called Bloatware.

bloatware in new device

Let's take a second back in time, when computers were big square boxes. Memory was a problem than and developers had less space to put applications.

As hard drives evolved and their technology became cheaper, developers began to relax and their systems and applications began to get fat. It was no longer necessary to reduce the system to a minimum, and the problem is that this weight gain was not always proportional to the growth and improvement of functions, that is, there was excess baggage.

This was when the term Bloatware or inflated software (or filler) was coined in Spanish. The term referred to those unnecessary or dispensable resources of a system that, despite not being useful, were left and ended up taking up space in the memory of the device.

Applications with very basic functions took up a disproportionate amount of space, not to mention software updates that also used up large amounts of device resources, such as data when downloading.

Bloatware today

However, over time the meaning of the word Bloatware has been extended to other uses. If you ever come across this term in articles or analysis of a mobile phone like the ones we do in Computer Hoy, know that we are referring to applications that are already pre-installed on a device as soon as you turn it on for the first time.

We are not talking about critical applications such as the image gallery, the contact list or the camera, but about the rest of the manufacturer's or third-party applications that when you turn on the device are already installed without you choosing whether you want them or not.

This set of applications is also referred to disparagingly as crapware. And they usually end up on our devices because developers pay manufacturers to include them and thus brands get a little more profitable from the product.

The most extreme cases are usually those of the mobiles offered by the operators at lower prices. These companies also ask the manufacturer to include their applications that include those of the software developer such as Android and those of the manufacturer as the entire range of Xiaomi applications, for example.

Bloatware are taking a lot of space and making your device slow in working, to stop this you should unistal the apps or you can use an update antivirus which reminds you of some unwanted apps or corrupted files in your device which is affecting your computer and making it slow.

Sometimes bloatware is useful as we find some apps such as QR reader, calculator, calendar, notes, etc. Although other times we can choose better applications from other developers, whatever the case, it is normal to be able to uninstall most applications in case you do not want to use them.

Depending on the type of device and its operating system, there are different ways to uninstall it without harming the rest of the system. In these links we explain step by step how to uninstall Bloatware from your Android mobile or from your newly purchased computer.
